Bank of Queensland 10 jobs in 5 years

BOQ Penrith growing with the community

.

As the BOQ Penrith branch approaches its five year anniversary, it has many reasons to celebrate.

.

“We started back in 2005 with zero customers and three staff,” said Owner-Manager Anthony Walker, “and now we have approximately 4,500 customers with footings of more than $200 million and 10 full-time and casual staff!”

.

“We have just taken on a new commercial banker to ensure we provide the right level of assistance to our business clients, and I’ve also advertised for a branch manager to help me with the day to day running of the branch.

.

“And we’re looking to expand with additional space next door to the branch as we outgrow our current premises.

.

“I’m not saying it’s been easy, what with the GFC hitting just three years after we opened our doors, but with the support of the local community we’ve really been able to deliver on our initial promise of an alternative to the big banks, with the kind of personal customer service people really do want from their bank.”

.

BOQ Penrith customer Darren Tierney of local company, Aqua Options, said the service he had received from Anthony and his team was a real factor in the smooth running of his business.

.

“In [our] first two years of running a new small business, [Anthony and his] staff have always gone beyond the normal banking service offered to ensure our business runs smoothly,” said Mr Tierney.

.

“From the opening of new accounts to assisting with loans and even helping with small phone enquiries, the service we receive from the [BOQ Penrith] branch staff cannot be faulted.

.

“It is so important to us to have banking services offered that can be tailored to our business needs and it is always done with a smile.  It truly is different way of banking.”

.

Anthony said he and his team were delighted to be able to provide a unique service offering to the Penrith community and really believed the branch would continue to grow with the local economy.

.

“We’re committed to Penrith for the long haul and we are delighted to see growth in the local economy reflecting our own business’ growth.

.

“I honestly believe that Penrith is on track to becoming the major administrative, retail, educational and cultural centre for Outer Western Sydney, if we’re not there already.

.

“And with the Panthers now in second place on the ladder, I can’t think of a better place to be!”
