Meet a Local Medical Researcher

Are you interested in meeting some of the best researchers in Penrith, or would you like to see the results of the best clinical research projects completed by our local medical researchers? If yes, then you should attend the Nepean Scientific Day being held on Friday 22nd October at Nepean Hospital, and hosted by the Sydney Medical School Nepean.

The Nepean Medical Staff Council of the Nepean hospital is once again proud to host the Annual Nepean Scientific Day.

.

Professor Mohamed Khadra, Head of Surgery at Nepean Medical School, and the Head of the Nepean Medical Staff Council said “the aim of this year’s Nepean Scientific Day is for the community to meet researchers and to showcase the impact medical research has on our community, along with providing an opportunity for local businesses to interact with the researchers to better understand the opportunities that lie ahead in local medical research”.

Professor Khadra added, “this year we have presentations designed for the community and business people in areas such as; e-health, falls and home monitoring, new health gadgetry and ageing, along with research presentations from our best Medical Students”.

The Nepean Scientific Day starts at 8:30am at Nepean Hospital and will commence with a Community Forum that will include lay presentations where local medical researchers will showcase to the Penrith community leading research that is being done, and how it applies to clinical care.

In the afternoon the Scientific Forum will demonstrate the breadth and depth of scientific talent at the Nepean Hospital and Campus.

The CEO of the Penrith Business Alliance, Bijai Kumar added, “if you are a local business then the Nepean Scientific Day could be one of the best ways to meet budding local scientists, and to see firsthand what advances are being made in the field of medical research in our community”.
